With the Christmas season coming there are many Christmas movies that people love and reminisce about. Movies like “Elf”, “The Grinch”, “Polar Express” are all great Christmas movies to watch around the holiday season. There are many Chagrin students that love Christmas movies.

Freshman Alex Hardy is a huge Christmas guy. Deciding between “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and “Elf” as his favorite Christmas movie, Hardy decided that he liked “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” more than Elf.

“I chose ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’ because I think it is more funny than ‘Elf’,” said Hardy. “Although Will Ferrell was really funny in ‘Elf’.”

Sophomore Drew Zelch happens to like many Christmas movies. He can’t decide between “The polar Express”, “The Grinch”, and “Home Alone.”

“‘The Grinch’, ‘The Polar Express’, and ‘Home Alone’ are all great movies. I can’t decide on a favorite because I like them all too much,” said Zelch.

Students at Chagrin have a very good taste in Christmas movies; However, there are some students who have an interesting taste in movies. These movies are not the common favorite Christmas movie for most people .

Senior Tristan Norton doesn’t watch that many Christmas movies; However, when he does he especially likes watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas”.

“Turning on ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ is always great around Christmas time because it reminds me of when I was young I used to watch it at school, and it also reminds me of all the festive activities when I was younger,” stated Norton.

Norton adds that he also likes Jim Carrey in the grinch. He likes the comedic timing of Jim Carrey and his jokes.

“Jim Carrey is a great actor, especially in ‘The grinch’. The grin that the grinch makes is actually Jim Carrey smiling which I think is pretty interesting,” said Norton

Another unusual favorite Christmas movie would be “Gremlins”. With this movie being older, coming out in 1984, not many people would pick this as their favorite Christmas movie.

Senior Jack Ducas says that “Gremlins” is his favorite Christmas movie. Ducas likes the fact that it’s a scary Christmas movie.

“I know it’s a weird pick but this movie is pretty good. I like it because you don’t see many scary Christmas movies anymore,” Ducas said.

People watching a Christmas movie usually have something while watching a movie. Either it’s a hot chocolate, a warm cookie, or a nice warm fire in a fireplace.

Junior Tyler Saccone loves watching Christmas movies with some hot chocolate with whipped cream on top. Having a hot chocolate on a cold winter day has to be the best thing during the winter season

“Drinking some hot cocoa while watching my favorite movie The Night Before is the best thing around Christmas season,” said Saccone.

With the Christmas season coming around. Students at Chagrin Falls High School are very excited to start off their holiday season with watching classic Christmas movies.
