Favorite Christmas songs

People have been in the mood for Christmas since Halloween, but now that Thanksgiving is over it is officially Christmas time. The most wonderful time of the year.

Christmas music has been playing for months now, but it is officially December. And finally, time to get in the Christmas spirit and start listening to some Christmas music.

CFHS student Anna Campbell discusses her favorite Christmas Song. “All I want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey is my favorite Christmas song. Because it reminds me of when I get to see my cousins and other family members,” said Campbell.

Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is you” is one of the most famous Christmas songs of all time with 16 million copies sold.

CFHS student Ellie Moran discussed why “Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas” is her favorite Christmas song.

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” by Michale Buble. My family has a weird obsession with him so whenever it plays it starts to feel more like Christmas time,” Moran said.

Michale Buble is very famous for his Christmas music and his album has sold over 4 million copies.

Despite all the love for Christmas music, Moran discusses her least favorite song. “I think the most overplayed Christmas song would be wonderful Christmas time, I do like the song however, there are just a lot of covers of it and I hear it on the radio all the time,” Moran said.

It is predicted with royalties and radio stations Paul Macartney makes 400 thousand dollars every year from this song. Just imagine how much Maraia Carey makes every year.

CFHS junior Sarah Lynch discussed how she feels about Christmas music.

I like Christmas music a lot because it gets me into the holiday spirit

You really do not hear a lot about sad Christmas music; it usually puts you in a good mood.

Campbell discussed why Mariah Carey is her favorite Christmas artist.

“I would have to say Mariah Carey is my favorite Christmas song artist because she has a large variety of Christmas songs that make the holidays feel more exciting,” Campbell said.

Mariah Carey is one of the, or the most famous Christmas singers. She has made over 60 million dollars from just “All I want for Christmas” that is not including her other songs.

Lynch discusses how she is a fan of most Christmas music.

“I don’t really have a Christmas song I hate. But I prefer more fast-paced Christmas music because I do not love slow music. To me, Christmas time is happy and cheerful so I want a happy fast-paced song,” Lynch said.

Christmas time is a time to spend with friends and family, a slow-paced song does not fit the holiday mood the best.

Lastly, Lynch discussed her favorite Christmas song and why it is so special to her.

“My favorite song would have to be “Santa Clause coming to town” by Bruce Springsteen. I always listen to it with my family. It is our favorite song,” Lynch said.
