The CFHS swim team qualified six girls and eight boys for the state meet that took place from Wednesday, February 19 to Friday, February 21.

In all, l the Tigers qualified twelve swimmers and two divers. This is the most amount of swimmers the team has ever sent to the state meet. Junior Michael Tropf expressed how proud he is to be a part of the team.

“It felt amazing to have so many people qualify for states. It brought attention to the incredible skill and teamwork of us swimmers have,” said Tropf.

With so many swimmers and divers being able to go to the state meet, there was no shortage of events to watch.

On the boy’s side, their 200 Free relay consisting of senior John Cashy, junior Tropf, senior Parker Broz, and senior Clark Reboul got second place with a new school record of 1:26.43. Clark Reboul anchored the Tigers and swam a record-breaking 20.93.

“I was extremely happy with how we performed, we all gave it everything we had and that’s all I could ask for,” said Reboul. “We had some good times and it was fun stepping on the block and racing Indian Hill in the last leg.”

This tremendous accomplishment exemplifies the hard work the team put in all season to get to that point. Individually, Reboul went on to finish fourth in the state with a time 21.44 seconds in the 50 free.

On the first day, CFHS swimmers watched juniors Keanu Sherman, who placed twenty-third, place in the state, and Kate Lamonica, who placed firth, dive which was amazing. Over the next few days, the Tigers cheered on their teammates as they swam against the best in the state.

“The energy at the state meet is hard to put into words,” said senior Bella Klug. “There’s always people swimming and it is the best to stand behind the lanes to cheer on our team,” continued Klug.

The ladies medley relay consisting of senior’s Libby Bare, Klug, Ellen Guddy, and freshman Madi Machado, finished their season strong, placing 16 in the state.

“I am very thankful for all the memories I’ve made with this team and having such a successful end together with my team,” said Klug.
