This week, the Cleveland Browns traded their first-round pick, a third-round pick, and safety Jabrill Peppers to the New York Giants for All-pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

“This is a trade that could really take the Browns to the next level. OBJ is one of the best players and the league and it’s crazy to think he’s on our team now,” said senior Griffin Lowe.

As Beckham Jr. is one of the top young offensive players in the league, the Browns seem to be positioned to win in both the short and long term.

“Pairing Odell and Baker [Mayfield, the Browns starting quarterback,] gives us a shot to be a really good team in the NFL this year and for the next five to ten seasons,” said sophomore Tyler McClain.

The Browns are quickly becoming one of America’s favorite team as Beckham Jr and Mayfield are the two most popular NFL players among young viewers. However, some Browns fans in Chagrin Falls worry about bandwagon fans.

“I think it’s great that we’re getting a lot of national attention, but I don’t love the idea of a bunch of new Browns fans all of a sudden. I’ve waited my whole life for this so I feel like other people are cheating just hopping on the bandwagon now,” said senior Jack Amendola.

The Browns now have one of the most talented offensive rosters in the NFL, but they didn’t stop there, as they also bolstered the defense through both free agency and trade. The Browns also acquired defensive linemen Oliver Vernon and Sheldon Richardson through trade and free agency respectively.

With all the talent on the roster, only one question remains: can the talent translate to on-field success?

“Obviously, it feels like we have all the pieces on our team, but we’ve got some big personalities on our team so it’ll be interesting to see how they will all play together,” said Lowe.

For the first time in a long time, the Browns seem to be on a path towards immediate success. While many Browns fans remain elated, some set their sights to bigger things now.

“Honestly, since we got Beckham, I feel like it’s Super Bowl or bust for us now,” said Amendola.
